Course Expectations
Each student will complete all of the following:
- Two four-hour sessions of classroom instruction
- At least six full hours of behind the wheel driving time, with a licensed instructor. Driving times are set up on a individual bases depending on amount of practice needed between drives.
- We are currently using the Chevrolet Malibu for driving which has front-wheel drive, high crash test ratings, dual-airbags, and fewer blind spots then other vehicles.
- Each parent or guardian will be given the opportunity to complete one hour of classroom instruction regarding their responsibility for completing the 50 hours of state required observation

Each student driver will receive a driver handbook and a classroom textbook. The textbook will also assist the parent when questions arise during their 50 hours of state required observation.
Each class will have approximately 15-30 students. Presently classes are given on the first and second Saturday of each month. Except for the summers months . *Special classes are also given through out the year so please check the schedule.
Begin With Basics Driving Academy does not guarantee that your driver will successfully complete this driving course. Our instructors will work very hard to assist the students reach the goal of a driver’s license. However the student must prove they have the knowledge and show they have developed the skills needed to create a safe driving environment.
Cost for the complete course………$420.00 if paid in full by the first class session. If made by payments the total cost is $430.00, $200.00 by session 1 and the remaining payment by the 2nd session. ( A fuel surcharge may be added to cover the higher cost of fuel. We will not cut the number of miles driven by each student.
Sessions are from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm unless otherwise noted!
*Additional Sessions are Available in March, June, November and December WALK-INS ARE WELCOMES FOR ALL SESSIONS UNLESS NOTED ON THE SCHEDULED DATE!!!

You must attend a A and B session prior to completing the course. These sessions may be attended in any order and do not have to be in back to back sessions. If you live outside of Johnson County, you will need to set up a location to meet the instructor for the driving lessons! If the instructor must pick up the student outside of Johnson County an addition fee of $65.00 must be assessed to cover the expenses of mileage and instructor.
A parents' meeting is held on the Tuesday before the first Saturday session each month at 8 p.m. This is a informational meeting and is not mandatory. Registration can be accepted at that time if October 29th NO CLASS
space is available.
